They also had Eduardo Cruz, an Extremaduran automotive mechanic and retailer. Penelope Cruz was only 15 when she took home an agency model contest. In her twenties, Cruz appeared in Spanish show on television and in music videos. Her career began with Spanish movies and quickly became an international superstar. Penelope Cruz was born in Spain and is best known for her acting skills, having performed in film and on television. The most famous of her roles is her work with Spanish film maker Pedro Almodovar. Her performance in Woody Allen Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) won her an Academy Award. Piper Perabo won a Golden Globe for her performance in films, television as well as in theatre. Her parents were originally from Dallas, Texas. The actress was cast in the leading role for the film Coyote Ugly in 2000. Perabo is the child of Mary Charlotte Ulland who was an Occupational Therapist as well as George William Perabo an Ocean County College poet lecturer.
