Mary McCormack was an American actress best known for her portrayals as the lead character in TV shows like "Murder One", "The West Wing", "In Plain Sight" and Loaded. Also known for her roles in films that she's appeared on, including "Private Parts", "Deep Impact", "True Crime" and 1408. Her parents were a therapist as well as an ice cream shop proprietor, McCormack hails from a family without any direct connections to the field of entertainment. Her career began at the age of 12 as she performed in a stage production of 'Amahl and the Night Visitors, a Christmas opera. Her career began at the young age of 12 when she appeared in a stage version of an opera for Christmas titled "Amahl and the Night Visitor'. McCormack continued to perform in theatres, and eventually landed roles that were on small screens as well as the big screen. McCormack today is acknowledged as one of the best known and most versatile performers. She is the mother of three children together with her husband, director/producer Michael Morris.
